One of the newest alarm systems on the market is also one of the most advanced. The new Videofied alarm system from RSI Video Technologies is a versatile wireless camera system that can be adapted for use in homes and businesses. It has numerous benefits for both homeowners and business owners alike.
- Ease of Setup
Because the system is completely wireless, setup is a breeze. Simply place the camera units to provide views of the intended areas of monitoring, install the control panel, and set up the keypad. Because these units communicate with each other wirelessly, there are no holes to drill, wires to run, or difficulty getting the system to recognize the various pieces. Videofied is essentially a “plug-and-play” security system. - Versatility
Effective for both homeowners and business owners alike, Videofied is incredibly versatile. With available night-vision cameras specifically designed for both indoors and outdoors, your Videofied system can seamlessly integrate exterior and interior security monitoring. - System Strength
Videofied is an incredibly robust, powerful alarm system. Activated by motion, the cameras send a live feed to an off-site security monitoring location, which will dispatch authorities in the case of a break-in. Additionally, because the system is activated by motion, the batteries are able to stay fresh for as long as 4 years.
Videofied is an excellent alarm system for individuals looking for an effective method of security monitoring that doesn’t require professional installation. For more information about Videofied, or any home protection system, call Post Alarm Systems at (626) 802-5345. Halloween is just a couple of weeks away. As you begin transforming you’re your beautiful home into a scene from your scariest nightmare, there are some important safety tips to keep in mind.
Before Halloween:
- Take extra effort to eliminate tripping hazards on your porch and walkway. Check around your property for flower pots, low tree limbs, support wires or garden hoses that may prove hazardous to young children rushing from house to house.
- Consider fire safety when decorating. Do not overload electrical outlets with holiday lighting or special effects, and do not block exit doors. Remember, early detection of a fire is critical for your survival. Smoke detectors are life savers. The primary fire safety strategy for any home is to warn the occupants early. The best way to get the earliest warning of danger is by installing sufficient smoke detectors. Monitored smoke detectors are the best choice as they allow you and your family to escape while the Central Monitoring Station calls the fire department. If you have battery powered smoke detectors now is a great time to change the batteries.
- While children can help with the fun of designing a Jack O’ Lantern, leave the carving to adults.
- Always keep Jack O’ Lanterns and hot electric lamps far away from drapes, decorations, flammable materials or areas where children and pets will be standing or walking. You may want to consider battery operated lights to illuminate Jack O’ Lanterns instead of candles.
- Confine, segregate or otherwise prepare household pets for an evening of frightful sights and sounds. Be sure that all dogs and cats are wearing collars and proper identification tags. Consult your veterinarian for further advice.
- Remind all household drivers to remain cautious and drive slowly throughout the community.
- Review with your children the principle of “Stop-Drop-Roll”, should their clothes catch on fire.
- Many cities and malls host safe Halloween events. Visit your city’s website or contact your local mall for details.
Next week we will go over part 2.
Have a wonderful SAFE day!

Fires cause significant damage to homes every year. Worse, most house fires are completely preventable. While there are many causes of house fires, the common thread between many of them is a lack of understanding about how everyday objects can cause house fires. Preventing house fires is ultimately a matter of exercising care and caution.
- Shut Off Appliances
When not in use, remember to turn off and unplug appliances such as toaster ovens or portable heaters. These appliances can continue to draw power, even when not use, which can cause overheating and electrical shorts. Shutting them off can eliminate the risk of unintended fires. - Use Electrical Outlets Properly
Electrical outlets are designed to draw a certain amount of power from the grid. Overloading those outlets with plugs and extension cords can cause electrical shorts, sparks, and overheating, all of which can cause electrical fires. Prevent electrical fires by not overloading your electrical outlets. Only plug in items where their plug will fit, and minimize your use of extension cords whenever possible. - Install and Test Smoke Detectors
Properly functioning smoke detectors are the most vital part of any home fire alarm system. Smoke detectors help warn you of trouble, giving you the time to get out of the house alive. Remember to test your smoke detectors monthly, replacing batteries as needed.
