    Alarm Screens

    Last updated 1 year ago

We are excited to announce that Post Alarm now manufactures our own, high quality, alarm screens.

Alarm screens are the ultimate protection when it comes to the comfort and safety of your family.  Alarm screens allow you to arm your alarm system while keeping windows open for ventilation.  If an intruder attempts to remove or cut the screen while the system is armed, the alarm will instantly sound and notify our central monitoring station.   Thieves do not like to attract attention to what they are doing so the quicker the alarm sounds, the quicker the intruder will be scared away.  Alarm screens sound the siren before the intruder can even step foot into your home which makes them one of the most trusted and reliable forms of security…basically they are the ultimate form of protection.

Post Alarm’s security screens are manufactured exclusively for our clients therefore allowing us to provide a high quality product at a much lower price.  Alarm screens have the same look as regular screens but have tiny wires woven throughout which create a barrier of security. Our alarm screens allow you to keep the existing look of your window as we custom create each screen according to our client’s preferences.

Take advantage of our summer special, custom-built Security Alarm Screens for as low as $75.00 installed!

Protect what’s important, while still allowing in fresh air and sun light!

If you are interested in purchasing alarm screens or adding alarm screens to your current security system, call Post Alarm today at 800-654-7678.

    Smoke Alarms = SAVED LIVES

    Last updated 1 year ago

Each year, there are more than 400,000 residential fires in the United States. Over 18,000 people are injured in these fires, and about 3,600 die. Shockingly, 40% of those fire fatalities are children who are four or younger. Fire alarms can help reduce these tragic statistics.

Watch this video clip to learn more about staying on top of fire alarm maintenance. It’s very important to install multiple fire alarms throughout your home, but it’s just as important to continuously check the alarms to make sure they are working. Replace the batteries regularly, and test each alarm at least once a month.

Keeping You Posted: Child Internet Safety

    Last updated 1 year ago

Whether you are a parent or a grandparent, chances are your children or grandchildren are active on the Internet.  In many ways it has simplified our life but it also requires us, as responsible adults, to take precautions to protect our families.

To protect your family on-line, there are four basic steps you should take:

    •  Set clear and concise rules for Internet usage.
    • Talk with your kids or grandkids and listen to what they say, do, and who they are meeting on-line.
    • Keep personal information just that – personal and private.
    • Invest in family safety software.

Ask your children or grandchildren to show you what they are doing and who they are meeting on the Internet.  Encouraging them to “teach” you about their world is a great way to communicate with them without it seeming like an inquisition.

Spend time knowing how your children use the internet, what games they play, what chat rooms they visit, and read profiles they post on social networking sites to see how they are representing themselves and that they are not divulging too much personal information.

The following are some guidelines to consider for creating a safe online experience for your family:

    • Only allow children to access the Internet when you are at home.
    • Do not let young children participate in chat rooms.
    • Teens should participate only in moderated chat rooms.

Do not share files or open attachments from strangers.  We train our children not to accept gifts from strangers in the real world, the same rule applies online.  By allowing them to accept attachments or click on a link in an email to open music or video from strangers, they could be opening a virus, a disturbing image, or downloading bad software.

Speak openly and candidly with your children about online risks including inappropriate content, invasion of privacy, and sexual predators.  Teach them how they can keep themselves safe by being aware and that their own behavior can reduce those risks and help keep them safe when they are online.

Encourage your children to tell you immediately of any suspicious online behavior such as someone asking personal questions or wanting to arrange to meet them in person.  Personal information includes real name, age, sex, school, telephone number, address, or favorite places to hang out.  Even posting a photograph tempts fate.  Most importantly, make it safe for your children to feel secure and comfortable to share with you there may be a “situation” they need your guidance with.

There are many family software packages available on the market.  Research and select one that fits your family’s needs.  Be sure to keep your firewalls and spam filters current to filter junk email and install antivirus and antispyware software on your computer.

Common courtesy is a basic rule of human relationships.  That basic rule also needs to be applied in our online dealings.  The time-held saying of “treat others as you want to be treated” holds true here.

Spending that extra time with your children ensures them of your love, guidance, and support, and ensures you of their safety and comfort of knowing they can depend on you to be there for them.

Pay attention to what your kids do online. If you don’t, who will?!

Have a wonderful SAFE day! Brought to you courtesy of Post Alarm Systems.

Tips for Keeping Your Business Secure

    Last updated 1 year ago

Ensuring the safety of your business is vital to its success. Use these security-monitoring techniques to promote office safety and well-being:

    Perform Fire-Proofing Procedures

While no building is completely safe from the threat of fires, there are many things you can do to eliminate fire hazards in your office. Make sure the building is equipped with working fire extinguishers and fire alarms. Periodically check the condition of the wires around the office to make sure none are frayed and dangerous. Keep fire doors closed and show everyone how to safely get outside if there is a fire. Finally, make sure the office fire alarm is connected to a monitoring company who can send help if necessary.

    Install Security Cameras

Set up security cameras in the parking lot and around the office so that you can catch any criminal activity on tape. Security cameras will make it safer for your employees to leave the building on their own, even late at night. A large part of keeping your business safe is making sure that your employees and premises are safe, and a security camera will help ensure this.

    Use a Quality Alarm System

The best way to keep your business protected is to install an alarm system that will inform the security monitoring company of any issues in and around your office. Arm windows and doors with an alarm that will have the police instantly alerted if there is a problem at your building. This will enable you to go home each day without having to worry about the safety of your business.

Get alarm systems for both work and home at Post Alarm Systems. One of the most trusted alarm companies in Southern California, we take your security very seriously. To learn more, visit our website or call us at (626) 802-5345.
